I doubt they'd make any changes to the hardware at this point because they'll probably release the 2nd version of the phone later in 2021 that will hopefully fix any shortcomings from the 1st version. International Release: Don't have any information on the release myself.

Nothing really bothered me much other than some NBA game I can't delete, but I just disabled it.

  • Bloatware: AT&T has a few bloatware apps, most related to their service if buying the device from them.
  • Microsoft Insurance: Yes, like said above, just call into Microsoft Store call center and ask to purchase it.
  • You can buy the Microsoft Insurance to cover the device for accidents after buying the device from AT&T, but you'll need to call into the Microsoft Store to purchase it as their website doesn't seem to allow for buying it after the fact from anyone other than Microsoft itself. You only get 1 year though and it doesn't cover accidents.
  • If you are trying to get a replacement due to a defect in the device, you would contact Microsoft to get a replacement.
  • Also you might get hit with a restock fee.
  • If trying to return to AT&T because you don't like the device, I believe they only offer a 14 day return window.
  • Here are the answers to your questions that I can answer: It seems the information on either of those items has dried up a bit. There's also that mythical black version in the back of my mind that looks pretty sweet. I wonder if Microsoft has made any corrections with the hardware to correct any of the known issues before the release. The last thing that has me stuck as to getting the device now or later so the upcoming international release.

Does AT&T place a lot of their bloatware on the device or is the software the same if it was directly from Microsoft?

    #DUO APP UNINSTALL UPDATE#

By all accounts, that update will be the one that corrects a lot of the shortcomings.

    #DUO APP UNINSTALL ANDROID#

I wonder if there wouldn't be a longer wait time when Microsoft publishes Android 11. It seems like AT&T has done a pretty decent job of releasing the updates in a timely manner that Microsoft has published for the device so far, but those updates have been relatively minor changes. How would that work if I needed to do that if I got it from AT&T?Īlso, can I get the Microsoft insurance still if I didn't get the duo from them directly? I've been following this community for awhile, and it seems there's been a lot of folks having to return the device for replacements. I have a few questions in regard to those who have gotten the duo through AT&T vs Microsoft, or another route.

I have service through AT&T and am upgrade eligible.
